Winmarleigh Residential Visit - The visit which will be in 2009 and offered to all P5 and P6 has had almost a 100% take up. The final cost is now £204, £15 cheaper than first stated. www.winhall.co.uk School Improvement Plan - A questionnaire has been sent home on various aspects of the school and how to improve on our success. Please could you fill these in/return and add any comments you feel would improve the school. These completed forms and additional information will be looked at and an action plan will be written up. Classes for New Term - Nursery - Miss Kilpatrick, P1/2 - Mrs Russell, P2/3 - Mrs Morrison, P4 - Miss Hume, P5 - Miss Wilson, P6 - Mrs Sinclair, P7 - Mrs Rutherford/Miss Carruthers. Free School Meals - This pilot scheme will end on 27th June. From August the price of school meals will remain at £1.60. Pupils Absence Notification - A reminder, please note that all absences must be explained. Please notify the school before 9am if your child is going to be absent. All unexplained absences will be followed up. Thank you for your help in this matter. Holidays - More families than ever seem to be taking holidays during term time. Two weeks at the beginning of the school year means your child misses a considerable amount of schooling and this time off can be recorded/logged as unauthorized absences. Requests for holidays during term time must be put in writing to the school prior to departure. No work will be given to children on holiday. Healthy Tuckshop - Snacks are sold on a daily basis from the tuckshop. This is run as an Enterprise project by P7 who monitor sales and choose what they sell. Prices vary from 10p - 20p. Safety - Cars are yet again parking dangerously around the school area. Please do not park on the yellow lines or around the island outside the school. Please use the spaces provided or park around the corner and walk the short distance. This dangerous parking is mostly happening after school (3pm - 3.30pm) and if it continues we will name and shame those at fault. Also please note that the staff car park is a no go area for children and must not be used as a short cut by parents. Thank you. Standards and Quality Report / School Improvement Plan - Each year the school produces a plan for the school in order for improvements to be made. Our priorities must link with the Educational Department ‘Better Plan’ and also with the Government National Priorities in Education. Details of this plan will be able to viewed here soon. |
